MIMS Workshop on
New Directions in Noncommutative Geometry
10-11 July 2008
This workshop is part of the
MIMS
New Directions series of workshops
taking place in MIMS throughout 2008.
We like to think of this workshop as a sequel to the six-month programme on
Noncommutative Geometry at the Isaac Newton Institute in 2006. The
meeting will provide an opportunity to present the best results of the
interim period, and to identify promising new directions for research.
Within noncommutative geometry, the Baum-Connes conjecture unifies two
themes:
- the cohomology of the admissible duals of Lie groups and p-adic groups
- K-theory of C*-algebras attached to groups and metric spaces
This is an informal 2-day workshop limited to about 30 participants.
A poster is available.
