One Day Ergodic Theory Meeting - 28 April 2006

This is part of a series of collaborative meetings between Liverpool University, Manchester University, Queen Mary, Surrey University and Warwick University, supported by a Scheme 3 grant from the London Mathematical Society.

Programme

1.30pm - 2.15pm Nikita Sidorov (Manchester)
Iterated function systems with overlaps: combinatorics and dynamics
2:30pm - 3:30pm Lars Olsen (St Andrews)
Multifractal analysis and fractal properties of (non-)normal numbers
4:00pm - 5:00pm Franco Vivaldi (QMUL)
Minimal modules of periodic orbits

Tea will be available between 3:30pm and 4:00pm. In the evening there will be a meal at a local restaurant.

Venue

All talks will take place in Room M12 of the Mathematics and Social Sciences Building on the Oxford Road Site of the University of Manchester.
